Video Facade

Lazy-load video embed behind a thumbnail image; iframe loads only on click for faster pages. It is shown in the block inserter as Canvas Video Facade and registered as canvas-core/video-facade.

Select the block on a page and its own settings open in the sidebar, in the panels below:

Settings

Each setting is named exactly as the block editor names it, followed by what it does and what it starts as. Where a setting carries a Shown when line, it stays hidden until that condition is met, which is the usual reason a setting looks missing from the sidebar:

    Custom thumbnail shown before the video loads. Leave blank to use the video platform default.

    How large the play button over the still image is drawn.

    The shape the video frame keeps at every screen width. Match it to the video so no black bars appear.
