Refunds And Renewals

This page collects the commercial terms of a Canvas license in one place: the refund window, how the refund is paid back, how renewal is priced, what cancelling does, and how upgrades between plans are charged. The terms are short by intent, and there is no fine print beyond what is written here.

Refunds

A seven day refund window applies to your first Canvas purchase. If Canvas is not right for you, request the refund within seven days of that purchase and the payment is returned. A refund ends the license: activations stop verifying and download access is withdrawn, which is the mirror image of the purchase being undone.

Renewals and upgrades are not first purchases and are not refundable. Cancel before the renewal date instead, which is described under Cancelling below.

The window exists for evaluating the product on your real project, so use it that way: install, activate, import a demo and build. Seven days is enough to know.

How The Refund Is Paid Back

Important

Refunds are returned minus the payment processor fees.

The refund goes back to the original payment method, and our payment provider does not return the processing fee it charged on the original transaction. That amount is therefore deducted from the sum you receive. The deduction is the processor's fee and nothing else: no administration charge or restocking fee of ours is added on top. The fee is a small percentage of the price plus a fixed amount and varies with the payment method and the country you paid from, so the exact amount being returned is confirmed to you when the refund is issued. If you want the figure before deciding, ask and we will confirm it first.

How long the money takes to reach your statement is set by your bank and by the payment provider. Your dashboard marks the order refunded as soon as the refund is issued, which is the earlier signal that it went through.

Renewals

A Canvas license runs for one year and renews at the price you paid. There is no introductory discount that snaps to a higher renewal price later, so the number you saw when buying is the number the renewal charges. There are no lifetime plans; the yearly license is the product, and What Happens When A License Expires describes precisely what a lapse does and does not change.

Renewal is automatic while the subscription is active, and the Expires on row of the Canvas > License screen always shows the current term's renewal date, with a countdown note as it approaches.

Cancelling

Cancel the subscription at any time in the billing area of your Canvas account, at https://dashboard.canvaswp.com/billing, signing in when asked. Cancelling stops the renewal, nothing else: the license remains active for the remainder of the year you paid for, and the site behaviour described in the expiry article begins only when that term ends. Cancelling is therefore always safe to do early, the moment you know you will not continue.

Upgrading Between Plans

Upgrades from Starter to Professional to Agency are self service in the same billing area and prorated, so the unused portion of the current term is credited against the larger plan. Your existing key and activations carry over; you never buy a second license or re-activate sites to grow the site allowance. The White Label add on is purchased alongside any plan and runs as its own yearly subscription.
