The Wishlist
The wishlist lets shoppers save products to come back to. Signed-in shoppers keep their list in their account, so it follows them to any device. Guests keep theirs in their browser, and it joins their account the next time they sign in.
How To Switch On The Wishlist
Starting screenCanvasTheme OptionsWishlist.
Switch on Enable Wishlist and save. Canvas creates a page called Wishlist that holds the list, and chooses it under Wishlist Page; pick another page there if you prefer one of your own. Signed-in shoppers also get a Wishlist tab in My Account.
Where The Wishlist Controls Appear
Each placement has its own switch, and all of them start on:
- Heart on Product Cards adds a heart beside the add to cart and quick view icons that appear over a product card.
- Link on the Product Page adds an Add to Wishlist link under the Add to Cart button.
- Header Icon puts a heart beside the header cart, with the number of saved products.
Change the words on the controls with Add Text and Remove Text. Turn off Allow Guests to ask shoppers to sign in before they save anything.
How To Place The Wishlist Yourself
Three blocks let you put the wishlist anywhere the switches do not reach:
- Canvas Wishlist shows the saved products with their price, stock and an add to cart button. Put it on the page you chose as Wishlist Page. In its settings you can hide the stock or add to cart column and change the text shown when the list is empty.
- Canvas Wishlist Button saves the current product. Use it in a product template, as an icon or as an icon with text.
- Canvas Header Wishlist is the header icon, for a header you build yourself.
Pitfalls
- A guest's list disappears. Guests keep their list in the browser they used, so it does not follow them to another device until they sign in, and clearing the browser's site data empties it.
- The header icon is missing. The automatic icon sits beside the header cart. A header without a cart needs the Canvas Header Wishlist block.
