Event Categories

Displays the categories assigned to the current event. Supports text, badge, and pill styles. Only renders on canvas_event post type. It is shown in the block inserter as Event Categories and registered as canvas-core/event-categories.

Select the block on a page and its own settings open in the sidebar, in the panels below:

Settings

Each setting is named exactly as the block editor names it, followed by what it does and what it starts as. Where a setting carries a Shown when line, it stays hidden until that condition is met, which is the usual reason a setting looks missing from the sidebar:

  • SeparatorDefault,

    Text between category links when style is "Text". Ignored for badge/pill styles.

  • Link to ArchiveDefaultOn

    Makes each category clickable, taking the visitor to the list of other events in it. Turn it off to show the categories as labels only.

  • StyleDefaultText

    How the categories are drawn: as a run of plain text, as small square tags, or as rounded pills.

    ChoicesTextBadgePill
