Event Date

Displays the event start and end dates with optional time and calendar icon. Only renders on canvas_event post type. It is shown in the block inserter as Event Date and registered as canvas-core/event-date.

Select the block on a page and its own settings open in the sidebar, in the panels below:

Settings

Each setting is named exactly as the block editor names it, followed by what it does and what it starts as. Where a setting carries a Shown when line, it stays hidden until that condition is met, which is the usual reason a setting looks missing from the sidebar:

  • Date FormatDefaultF j, Y

    Pattern the date is written in. It uses the same letters as the Date Format setting in WordPress, so F j, Y reads as June 15, 2026.

  • Show TimeDefaultOn

    Adds the start time after the date. Turn it off for an event that runs all day.

  • Show End DateDefaultOn

    Adds the closing date, so an event over several days reads as a span rather than a single day.

  • Show IconDefaultOn

    Shows a small calendar icon in front of the date.
