Post Media

The entry media box of the current post: its featured image, video or audio embed, gallery slider, thumbnail grid, quotation, link or status card, chosen from the post format. It is shown in the block inserter as Post Media and registered as canvas-core/post-media.

Select the block on a page and its own settings open in the sidebar, in the panels below:

Settings

Each setting is named exactly as the block editor names it, followed by what it does and what it starts as. Where a setting carries a Shown when line, it stays hidden until that condition is met, which is the usual reason a setting looks missing from the sidebar:

    From Post follows each record's own format and Post Media settings: the correct choice for an archive of mixed posts. Anything else forces the same medium on every record.

    Which stored copy of the picture is served. A smaller one loads faster; a full-width media area needs a larger one to stay sharp.
