Post Reading Time

How long the record takes to read, computed from its own body. It is shown in the block inserter as Post Reading Time and registered as canvas-core/post-reading-time.

Select the block on a page and its own settings open in the sidebar, in the panels below:

Each setting is named exactly as the block editor names it, followed by what it does and what it starts as. Where a setting carries a Shown when line, it stays hidden until that condition is met, which is the usual reason a setting looks missing from the sidebar:

  Names the part of the page the estimate is worked out from, so it recounts against the real article text rather than the whole page. Leave empty and the figure is printed as it stands.

• ElementDefaultSpan

  Element the estimate is written into. Span keeps it on the same line as the byline around it; List Item suits a byline built as a list.
